How to get an Acacia Sapling in Survival Mode

You can add an acacia sapling to your inventory in Survival mode by chopping down the leaves of an acacia tree. So, let’s get started!

1. Find an Acacia Tree

First, you need to find an acacia tree in your Minecraft world. Acacia trees are usually found in the Savanna biome.

2. Hold an Axe

Although you can use your hand to chop down the leaves of an acacia tree, we prefer to use a tool such as an axe. These are the axes you can choose from:

In this example, we are going to use a wooden axe.

TIP: If you are looking for an acacia sapling, be sure to chop the leaves from the tree. If you chop down the tree trunk, it will give you acacia wood and not an acacia sapling.

3. Break the Acacia Leaves

The game control to break the acacia leaves depends on the version of Minecraft:

• For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the acacia leaves.
• For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the acacia leaves.
• For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
• For PS3 and PS4, press and hold the R2 button on the PS controller.
• For Wii U, press and hold the ZR button on the gamepad.
• For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZR button on the controller.
• For Windows 10 Edition, left click and hold on the acacia leaves.
• For Education Edition, left click and hold on the acacia leaves.

You will need to continue to chop until an acacia sapling falls from the tree.

4. Pick up the Acacia Sapling

Make sure you pick up the acacia sapling before it disappears.

Once you pick up the acacia sapling, it will appear in your hotbar.
