Camel Mob Wiki Guide
This Minecraft tutorial explains all about camels with screenshots and step-by-step instructions. Let’s learn about camels in Minecraft.
UPCOMING FEATURE:Â A camel is not yet available in the official release of Minecraft, but is coming soon on June 7, 2023! It will be available in Java Edition 1.20 and Bedrock Edition 1.20.0 (for Pocket Edition, Windows 10, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch).
Background
The following is a picture of what a camel looks like in the game:
Hostility Level | Passive Mob |
---|---|
Health Points | 32 health points x 16 |
Where to Find | In the Desert villages |
Weapon | None |
Attack Method | Will never attack you |
Drops | 1 Saddle (if equipped) |
Experience Points | 1-3 experience points |
Special Skills | Can be ridden by up to 2 players at a time |
Hostility Level (Passive)
A camel is a passive mob. The term mob is short for mobile and is used to refer to all living, moving creatures in the game such as chickens, creepers, and camels. Because a camel is a passive mob, it will never attack you in the game (Creative or Survival mode).
Health Points
In Minecraft, a camel has 16 hearts
for health. This gives a camel 32 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill a camel, you need to inflict 32 points of damage to the camel.Where to Find Camels
In Minecraft, camels can be found in the Desert biome in Desert Villages.
If you are having trouble finding a camel, you can summon a camel using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.
Weapon
A camel does not carry a weapon.
Attack Method
You are safe to walk near a camel and it will not attack or cause you any damage. And if you attack a camel, it will just move away. It will not attack you back.
Drops
If the camel was wearing a saddle, the saddle will be dropped when the camel is killed.
Make sure you pick up any dropped items before they disappear. They are useful and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.
Experience Points
As you play the game, you will gain experience. The most common way to gain experience is by killing mobs. When a mob is killed you will see tiny green and yellow balls appear and move towards you.
These orbs represent experience points. When you kill a camel, you will gain 1-3 experience points.
Foods to Feed a Camel
In Minecraft, you can restore a camel’s health by feeding it and you can also speed up how fast a baby camel grows by feeding it food.
TIP:Â A camel will only eat food if its health bar is down or if it is a baby camel that is growing. If you try to feed a camel otherwise, it will not eat the food.
In Minecraft, these are the foods that you can feed a camel:
Item | Name | Health Restored | Speeds Growth By |
---|---|---|---|
Cactus | 2 health points (Â x 1) |
20 seconds |
Note:Â The chart above shows the amount of health restored for each type of food eaten by a camel. It also displays the amount of time that it speeds up growth if you feed the food to a baby camel.
Spawn Egg for Camel
You can spawn a camel using the following spawn egg:
