Hostility Level (Hostile)

An ender dragon is a hostile mob. The term mob is short for mobile and is used to refer to all living, moving creatures in the game such as chickens, creepers, and ender dragons. Because an ender dragon is a hostile mob, it will attack you in Survival mode but not Creative mode.

Health Points

In Minecraft, an ender dragon is a boss mob. When this mob spawns naturally in the End dimension, it has a purple health bar that goes down as it takes damage. When the purple health bar is depleted, the ender dragon will die.

for health. This gives an ender dragon 200 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill an ender dragon, you need to inflict 200 points of damage to the ender dragon.

The ender dragon will heal itself by flying close to ender crystals. In the End, ender crystals can be found on top of obsidian pillars.

TIP: It is a good idea to destroy all of the ender crystals before attacking an ender dragon so that it can not heal itself.

Where to Find Ender Dragons

Ender dragons are only found in the End dimension.

If you haven’t been to the End, you need to build an End Portal to take you to the End. When you walk through an End Portal, it will transport you between the Overworld and the End. This is what an End Portal looks like:

If you are having trouble finding an ender dragon, you can summon an ender dragon using a cheat.

Weapon

An ender dragon does not carry a weapon.

Attack Method

In Minecraft, an ender dragon will dive towards you and try to hit you. It also has a special breath attack where the dragon breathes a purple cloud of acid breath. If you run through this breath, it will cause you damage.

Drops

When you kill an ender dragon in Minecraft, it will drop a dragon egg.

Follow these special instructions to add the dragon egg to your inventory (you can not just pick up the dragon egg like other items in Minecraft).

Experience Points

As you play the game, you will gain experience. The most common way to gain experience is by killing mobs. When a mob is killed you will see tiny green and yellow balls appear and move towards you.

These orbs represent experience points. When you kill an ender dragon, you will gain around 12,000 experience points.
