Grove Biome Wiki Guide
This Minecraft tutorial explains the Grove biome with screenshots.
In Minecraft, you will spawn into worlds with unique weather, animals, and plants. These regions are known as biomes. Let’s explore the Grove biome in Minecraft.
Background
In Minecraft, the Grove is a biome in the Overworld that was introduced in the Caves & Cliffs Update: Part II. It has groves of spruce trees, frozen lakes, and hills that are covered in a layer of snow. The Grove looks a lot like a snowy taiga with hills. This is one of the biomes where you can find the sides of hills covered in powder snow that you sink right into.
Let’s explore the characteristics of the Grove biome.
Weather
The weather in the Grove biome has average precipitation (but instead of rain drops, this biome has snow flakes).
Trees
In the Grove biome, you will find spruce trees covered in snow:
Vegetation
There is no vegetation in the Grove biome, as the ground is covered in snow.
Blocks
In this biome, you will find blocks such as ice, snow blocks, top snow, and powder snow:
Item | Description |
---|---|
Ice | |
Snow Block | |
Snow Layer (Top Snow) | |
Powder Snow |
TIP:Â Powder snow must be collected with a bucket. When you stand on powder snow, you will begin to sink into the powder snow and experience a freeze effect (where your health hearts will turn blue and you begin to take damage), unless you are wearing leather armor such as leather boots.
Other Standard Blocks
If you dig down far enough in the Grove biome, you will find the standard Minecraft building blocks such as stone, coal ore, iron ore, gold ore, diamond ore, redstone ore, copper ore:
Mobs
In the Grove biome, there is some wildlife such as snowy foxes, wolves and rabbits:
Overworld Mobs that Spawn at Night
You will still find the usual Overworld mobs that spawn at night in the Grove biome, such as creepers, endermen, skeletons, spiders, witches and zombies:
