How to get Hanging Roots in Survival Mode
You can add hanging roots to your inventory in Survival mode by finding hanging roots and gathering it. So, let’s get started!
1. Find Hanging Roots
First, you need to find hanging roots in the game. Hanging roots are found underground in the Lush Caves biome.
TIP: The easiest way to find hanging roots is to find an azalea tree above ground (where there will be rooted dirt around it). Follow the rooted dirt down to the cave system below. You will find hanging roots growing on the underside of these blocks of rooted dirt. Hanging roots can also grow on the nearby moss blocks and stone.
2. Hold your Shears
Next, place your shears in your hand by selecting them in the hotbar.
Position your pointer (the plus sign) on the hanging roots. You should see the hanging roots become highlighted in your game window.
3. Use the Shears
Next, use the shears on the hanging roots.
The game control to use the shears on the hanging roots depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the hanging roots.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the hanging roots.
- For Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS4, press and hold the R2 button on the PS controller.
- For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZR button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, left click and hold on the hanging roots.
- For Education Edition, left click and hold on the hanging roots.
You will need to continue to clip with the shears until the hanging roots fall to the ground.
4. Pick up the Hanging Roots
Make sure you pick up the hanging roots before they disappear.
Once you pick up the hanging roots, they will appear in your hotbar.
Hanging roots are useful items and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.
