Mangrove Propagule Wiki Guide

This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a mangrove propagule with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, a mangrove propagule is a new item that was introduced in the Wild Update. A mangrove propagule is a sapling that grows from the bottom of mangrove leaves. It is an item that you can not make with a crafting table or furnace. Instead, you need to find and gather this item in the game.

Let’s explore how to add a mangrove propagule to your inventory.

Where to find a Mangrove Propagule in Creative Mode

Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac)

Here is where you can find a mangrove propagule in the Creative Inventory menu:

  • Platform is the platform that applies.
  • Version(s) is the Minecraft version numbers where the item can be found in the menu location listed (we have tested and confirmed this version number).

How to get a Mangrove Propagule in Survival Mode

You can add a mangrove propagule to your inventory in Survival mode by finding a mangrove propagule and gathering it. So, let’s get started!

1. Find a Mangrove Tree

First, you need to find a mangrove tree in your Minecraft world. A mangrove tree is usually found in the Mangrove Swamp biome. This is what a mangrove tree looks like:

Notice that there is a mangrove propagule growing from the bottom of the mangrove leaves.

TIP #1: If you are having trouble finding a mangrove propagule, try growing your own propagule by using bone meal on the bottom of the mangrove leaves. Bonemealing mangrove leaves will cause a new propagule to start growing beneath it.

TIP #2: A mangrove propagule grows through 4 stages, and growth can be accelerated by bonemealing.

TIP #3: Only harvest the mangrove propagule when it is fully grown.

2. Break the Mangrove Propagule

Once you find a mangrove propagule that is full-grown, you can harvest it. The game control to break the mangrove propagule depends on the version of Minecraft:

  • For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the mangrove propagule.
  • For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the mangrove propagule.
  • For Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
  • For PS4, press and hold the R2 button on the PS controller.
  • For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZR button on the controller.
  • For Windows 10 Edition, left click and hold on the mangrove propagule.

The mangrove propagule will break and a smaller mangrove propagule will float on the ground.

3. Pick up the Mangrove Propagule

Make sure you pick up the mangrove propagule before it disappears.

Once you pick up the mangrove propagule, it will appear in your hotbar.

A mangrove propagule is a very useful item and should be kept in your inventory to be used later. You can plant a mangrove propagule like a sapling to grow a new mangrove tree.
