Hostility Level (Neutral)

A phantom is a hostile mob. The term mob is short for mobile and is used to refer to all living, moving creatures in the game such as chickens, creepers, and phantoms. Because a phantom is a hostile mob, it will attack you in Survival mode but not Creative mode.

Health Points

In Minecraft, a phantom has 10 hearts Phantom Mob - Wiki Guide 4

for health. This gives a phantom 20 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill a phantom, you need to inflict 20 points of damage to the phantom.

Where to Find a Phantom

In Minecraft, phantoms spawn in most Overworld biomes in light levels of 7 or less, when a player has not slept for a few nights. So if you want to avoid this mob, use your bed regularly.

Once a phantom has spawned in the dark, it can not survive in the daylight. When the sun comes out, the phantom will burst into flames and take damage until it dies.

Phantom Mob - Wiki Guide 5

If you are having trouble finding a phantom, you can summon a phantom using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.

Weapon

A phantom does not carry a weapon.

Attack Method

A phantom flies in circles up in the sky at a particular height. Once it sees you, it will swoop down and attack. If you damage the phantom during the attack, it will retreat back up into the sky for a brief time and then swoop down again to attack you.

Drops

When you kill a phantom in Minecraft, it will drop phantom membrane.

Make sure you pick up any dropped items before they disappear. They are useful and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.

Experience Points

As you play the game, you will gain experience. The most common way to gain experience is by killing mobs. When a mob is killed you will see tiny green and yellow balls appear and move towards you.

These orbs represent experience points. When you kill a phantom, you will gain 5 experience points.

Spawn Egg for Phantom
