Powder Snow Bucket Wiki Guide

This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a powder snow bucket with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, a powder snow bucket is a new item that was introduced in the Caves & Cliffs Update: Part I. Powder snow looks like a regular snow block, but must be collected with a bucket. Powder snow behaves differently than regular snow. When you stand on powder snow, you will begin to sink into the powder snow and experience a freeze effect (where your health hearts will turn blue and you begin to take damage), unless you are wearing a piece of leather armor such as leather boots.

How to get a Powder Snow Bucket in Survival Mode

You can add a powder snow bucket to your inventory in Survival mode by filling a bucket with powder snow. So let’s get started!

1. Find Powder Snow

First, you need to find a source of powder snow in your Minecraft world. Powder snow looks like a regular snow block, but it is actually a new type of block that you sink into when you stand on it (unless you are wearing a piece of leather armor).

Powder snow can be found along the sides of the hills in the Grove and Snowy Slopes biomes.

2. Hold a Bucket

Next, select a bucket in your hotbar so that you are holding it in your hand.

3. Fill the Bucket with Powder Snow

While standing in front of the powder snow, fill up the bucket with powder snow. The game control to collect the powder snow in the bucket depends on the version of Minecraft:

  • For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the powder snow.
  • For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the powder snow.
  • For Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
  • For PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
  • For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
  • For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the powder snow.
  • For Education Edition, right click on the powder snow.

You will see the message “Powder Snow Bucket” appear on the screen as the powder snow block breaks and your bucket fills with powder snow.

Congratulations, you have made a powder snow bucket in Minecraft!
