Profundis Mod

Profundis Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) is a world generation mod which adds nine new vanilla-styled underground biomes to the game. These seven new underground biomes make the depths of the world significantly more diverseâ€”what was once just three underground biomes is now ten! Mojang claimed that Caves & Cliffs would make the underground even more varied than the surface; Profundis aims to add much needed variation to the underground.

One of the standout additions is the “Frozen Caves.” These chilling caverns typically manifest beneath the game’s cold regions, creating an icy wonderland. Inside, you’ll encounter stalactites hanging from the ceiling, small ice and snow patches on the ground, and aquifers with a frosty layer. Redstone is abundant here, adding value to your expeditions. For those exploring more humid biomes, the “Mushroom Caves” await. These fungal-infused caverns feature mycelium-covered floors, a profusion of red and brown mushrooms, and even the occasional towering mushroom. The walls are adorned with Shelf Fungi, some of which emit a gentle glow from Shroomlights.

If you seek fiery adventures, venture into the “Molten Caves.” These fiery depths can be found in various environments and boast lava deltas winding through stony passages. You’ll discover lava springs aplenty and basalt columns reminiscent of the Nether’s Basalt Deltas. Iron is more abundant here, making it an excellent resource for your crafting needs. For those with an appreciation for the exquisite, the “Amethyst Caves” offer a mesmerizing experience. Situated beneath hilly terrain, these caves are adorned with beautiful Amethyst Veins that emit a soothing glow. The ethereal crystals create a serene ambiance, making these caves a visual treat for explorers.

In contrast, the “Black Caves” are shrouded in darkness and mystery. Found on the opposite side of valleys from Amethyst Caves, these caverns feature walls constructed from Tuff, Deepslate, and Blackstone. They lack the comforting glow of Glow Lichen, challenging adventurers to navigate large underground spaces with limited visibility. Hotter regions give rise to the “Arid Caves.” These caves are characterized by sandy floors, with layers of sand and red sand, while colorful bands of Terracotta form the walls. Similar in generation to Frozen Caves but in warmer biomes, they offer a unique underground experience.

Lastly, the “Floral Lush Caves” provide a variant of the beloved Lush Caves. These enchanting caverns feature floors covered in a riot of flowers, including Pink Pedals and a mix of blooms native to Flower Forests. It’s a botanical paradise hidden beneath the earth. What sets Profundis apart is its server-sided mod design, allowing it to be installed on a server so that clients can join without needing the mod. It’s also compatible with single-player mode when installed on your client, offering versatility for various playstyles.
