When a mob dies near a sculk catalyst, the mob will not drop its experience and an unknown process will consume blocks beneath the dying mob and turn them into sculk blocks.

A sculk catalyst is an item that you can not make with a crafting table or furnace. Instead, you need to find and gather this item in the game.

3. Mine the Sculk Catalyst

The game control to mine the sculk catalyst depends on the version of Minecraft:
