Hostility Level (Hostile)

A shulker is a hostile mob. The term mob is short for mobile and is used to refer to all living, moving creatures in the game such as chickens, endermen, and shulkers. Because a shulker is a hostile mob, it will attack you in Survival mode but not Creative mode.

Health Points

In Minecraft, a shulker has 15 hearts img-responsive for health. This gives a shulker 30 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points).

Armor Points

When a shulker closes its shell, it has 20 armor points (img-responsive x 10). It does not have this armor protection when the shell is open.

Where to Find Shulkers

In Minecraft, you can find shulkers in the End dimension in the End City (outer islands in the End). Here, you will find the shulker attached to a solid block. It will blend in with the purpur blocks around it when its shell is closed.

If you are having trouble finding a shulker, you can summon a shulker using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.

Weapon

A shulker has shulker bullets as a weapon.

Attack Method

When a shulker attacks you, it will open its shell and shoot shulker bullets at you. These bullets will act like guided missiles and follow you. When you are struck by a bullet, it will cause damage and give you the Levitation effect. This will cause you to float up until the effect wears off.

Drops

When you kill a shulker in Minecraft, it may sometimes drop a shulker shell. If you don’t get a shulker shell after killing the first shulker, be patient, and try killing another.

Make sure you pick up any dropped items before they disappear. They are useful and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.

Experience Points

As you play the game, you will gain experience. The most common way to gain experience is by killing mobs. When a mob is killed you will see tiny green and yellow balls appear and move towards you.

These orbs represent experience points. When you kill a shulker, you will gain 5 experience points.

Special Skills

Shulkers will close their shell to blend in with the purpur blocks around them. When a shulker is being attacked, it can teleport away and attach to another solid block close by.

Spawn Egg for Shulker
